My dying idols and Michael Jackson 2005-06-14 8:42 a.m. Yesterday I thought my fish were dying. Now today they are doing better. Does anybody know the average life of guppies? I've had mine for about 3 weeks. I didn't even expect them to live this long but every day they keep surprising me.

Yesterday afternoon the water was icky looking and there were little bubbles on the surface. I had never seen the little bubbles before. I promptly took the fish tank over to my sink where I began the every third day chore of changing the water for Bo and Constantine. When I went to grab Bo in my net, he was fast little bugger and went to get away and got caught between my net and the side of the bowl. He swan away and I tried again and got him and put him into the holding glass. After getting them both in there and cleaning out the stinky ass bowl I put them back in and noticed something very disturbing. Poor Bo lost part of his tail. Instead of this big beautiful tail of orange and black, he has has a V-shaped tail. I accidentally helped him cut off the rest. Cassidy was absolutely horrified by this. I put them back in there and gave them a little treat. For the rest of the afternoon neither one of them swam much. They stayed on the bottom of the bowl. At one point they were both down there not moving at all. Their tails weren't even going. I thought for sure they were dead but was too caught up in the Michael Jackson circus to worry about it right then. They survived all of that but spent the rest of the night laying pretty low. This morning when I woke up I fed them and they are pretty much back to normal. Poor Bo is without some tail but he's moving around pretty good. And Constantine is back to his usual gymnastics in the bowl, swimming vertical to the top, grabbing food then dive bombing it vertical back to the bottom. So I don't know what the deal is. Were they sick? Was there something icky in the water? What? I was a day late on cleaning out the bowl I think but still. If they survive this week then I'll have to find a fish "babysitter" for when I go on vacation. Not sure who I'm going to ask to do that. What a hassle! I guess we'll see how this week plays out. So I can report for now they are alive. I'll have to take pics of them and post them on here.

And so that brings me to the whole Michael Jackson circus. Although I don't think he should have gotten off on all of the counts, I was not surprised in the least he did. OJ Simpson killed his wife and got off. So did Robert Blake. So why did anybody think Michael Jackson wouldn't? Heaven forbid we'd prosecute a pop icon for being a freak and molesting boys. My opinion this whole time on this subject is this: I don't believe Micheal Jackson is completely innocent by any means. He had a weird house and a weird room and they did find all of that child pornography. I think there was some freaking stuff going on. On the other hand, I believe that mother was a money grubber too. I think she told those boys to lie or at the very least exaggerate a little bit. That mom had not one ounce of credibility. I think that fried her ass in the end. So I really believe that both parties are guilty in some form. But MJ is a huge celebrity and I knew he wouldn't get charged. Even the jurors upon reading the verdict said he more than likely molested those boys. But they didn't have the evidence without a doubt that he did. And they had to go by the letter of the law. They didn't have the smoking gun in their hands. It's sad yes. I still think MJ is a slimy, gutless freak. NOW he finally says he won't be sleeping with any little boy anymore so that he never has to go up against this ever again. GEE YA THINK MICHAEL???? I don't see how he'll ever come back from this career wise. So maybe he'll get his punishment. Keep it in your pants and sleep alone Michael and you and I will get along just fine. If that doesn't work, just get a scuzzy girlfriend, document your relationship on video, sell it to a network and then your career will be over. Whichever one you prefer.

Me and the person who was involved in the heartfelt letter that I wrote a few days ago spoke last night. It was a very good conservation. I found out some stuff I had suspected and she did too. We talked it all out and things are fine. End of story.

Back to work for me. Only 4 more days until I go on vacation!

do you put water conditioner in the tank? tap water isn't good for fish and needs to be conditioned before they are put in it. i have several guppies (they live birth their young) and they are hardy fish but you still have to make sure the water is balanced. good luck! i hope they live well... mine have been around for about a year but i'm not sure because they keep giving birth and i can't tell which are the original fish and which are the kids...
